Overall rating: 4.65 Cute spot in Hillcrest & just realizing this is a chain as I write this review. I split the avocado toast with a friend and got the California breakfast burrito. It was delightful! And it was sunny when I went and the umbrella was able to move around protecting us from the sun. So sweet! There was a moment, when they forgot part of our order. But they were sweet after.
We found this restaurant while walking through the gas lamp district. We saw a line of people out the door so we looked to see if we could make a reservation. Unfortunately they do not take reservations. I had the the cafe de olla, the power bowl and the lemon coconut pancakes. The power bowl was very delicious and very healthy. The pancakes were also delicious. My husband had the Mr. Presley French toast and they were also super delicious. Great place to eat if you are in the area. Service was great but definitely recommend you sit inside if you come in the summer.
Place is not bad at all, but smaller than I imagined. But the food was pretty good, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Kind of wish they had fried chicken on the menu but that’s just my opinion. The jambalaya shrimp was pretty good, Hollandaise sauce was pretty good as well. Their cocky 12 cold brew is pretty good, the ice cubes inside are actually frozen coffee cubes which was amazing.
Nice brunch spot....small outdoor patio seating area is pleasant (on the 2nd floor) and indoor seating has an airy feel. Space is cozy overall without seeming right. Portions are all good sized/large. The shrimp & grits and pesto Benedict were both excellent...the bloody Mary was fine, but just a bit too sour. The Jurassic Park bacon was soft/not crispy, and was a sugared-chipotle flavor (which, while tasty, the texture was somewhat off putting). All in all, haven't had a bad dish there yet and definitely recommend them!
I eat here every now and then because service and food are great. Dani our server took great care of us, friendly and attentive. Cozy and fun decor. I will be back. On street parking. I had veggie scramble and other Diner had strawberry cheesecake pancakes that were delicious.
I absolutely love that place! Every time I walked close to this restaurant I saw a line in the street and now I know why. I had a Breakfast Jambalaya and my friend had the Vegan Breakfast Burrito; both plates were great and rich in terms of flavors and taste. The place has a great atmosphere and I like the playlist - 80’s songs. I just gave 4 starts since me and my friend felt a little bit of pressure to leave the table for the next guests. Besides that I totally recommend it!
